Training Needs Analysis
The Jersey Safety Council is a body set up by the States of Jersey to promote occupational health and safety.
As part of the Council’s 2009 training initiatives we are pleased to offer a Training Needs Analysis Course.
Why you need this course!
This course will provide all successful candidates with the ability to assess and prepare job descriptions, undertake job risk assessments and analyse the training needs of their employees, ensuring compliance with current Jersey employment legislation and best practice.
This course is aimed at principals and senior managers who wish to raise their awareness to the Health & Safety needs of their employees.
These half day courses catering for a maximum of 8 delegates at a time will run on a bi-monthly basis starting in June 2009.

Why not enrol?
Q Embarrassment that you don’t fully understand the subject or the legal requirements surrounding the training of employees.
- There is no need to be embarrassed. The training course is here to answer these questions and prepare you and your business for the future.
Q Time and costs associated in undertaking the training and then having to undertake employee assessments.
- The cost of this course is negligible and in some cases free. The course requires half a day of your time and your commitment to seek a greater understanding of the requirements set out within the Health & Safety at Work legislation.
- The training provider requires your commitment to engage in the subject and this will in turn improve how your business deals with Health & Safety and the general planning and management of your business training requirements.
- Not having undertaken the training does not protect you should an accident occur. Ignorance is not a defence.

We can think of no other reasons why a starter or existing business would not fully embrace this course. There are no negatives to being more aware of your obligations and this will offer your business a clear advantage as clients increase their requirements regarding compliance within this area.
