ACoP - Approved Code of Practice

BSC - British Safety Council

CAT - Cable Avoidance Tool (used when digging up roads etc)
CIEH – Chartered Institute of Environmental Health
CITB – Construction Industry Training Board
COSHH - Control of Substances Hazardous to Health
CPCS – Construction Plant Competence Scheme

DSE - Display Screen Equipment (or workstation assessment)

HAV - Hand Arm Vibration
HIAB – Lorry mounted crane

IOSH – Institute of Safety & Health
IPAF – International Powered Access Federation
ITSSAR – Independent Training Standards Scheme & Register - Refers to Fork Lifts

JOSHA - The Jersey Occupational Safety & Health Association

LANTRA – The Sector Skills Council for the Environmental & Land Based sector

NEBOSH – National Examination Board in Occupational Safety & Health
NPORS – National Plant Operators Registration Scheme

PASMA – Prefabricated Access Suppliers & Manufacturers Assn
