As an employer of over 60 staff operating in many business throughout the Island and the person ultimately responsible for Health & Safety within my business I have gained considerable experience in this subject allowing me to better equip my clients in compliance, accident identification and risk reduction. Being involved in council has allowed me the opportunity to share this knowledge with a much greater audience and hopefully encouraging, through the use of effective training and monitoring, a means of reducing the negative affects of accidents.
MIKE OSBORNE
Contact email: Mike.osborne@aggregate.com
I have worked in the mining and quarrying industry for over twenty years, which is a work environment that might be described as hazardous, as it involves explosives and heavy plant and equipment. I understand that "hazardous" does not, however, mean "dangerous". With the correct planning, training and management a safe workplace can always be provided for all employees. The work of the Jersey Safety Council supports the development of ever improving workplace safety and I am pleased to be able to contribute to that cause.
SARAH HOLLAND

I have worked in both the Hotel and Banking industry for over twenty years in the UK, Jersey and Guernsey, where I have been responsible for the Health & Safety of both staff and the general public. I have both NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications plus the hands on experience in this subject has allowed me to better equipped to manage training and a safe workplace for the environment I am in. Having taken some time out to care for my daughter who is now at school, being involved in the Council has given me the opportunity to step back into a Health and Safety environment that can hopefully help and support employers and employees of Jersey to open their eyes to the subject which effects us all on a daily basis
