Manual Handling

Mark Embrey continues the theme of correct lifting technique to introduce a special three day course which not only provides practical technique but imparts the knowledge of the causes of back pain, raises awareness of the need for good posture and technique. The course includes the implications of the HSE regulations and risk assessment as well as teaching instructor skills.

- Objectives of the Course
- The Principles of Safe Lifting
- Problem Solving
- Accident Statistics and the Reduction of Risks
- Health & Safety Legislation & Risk Assessments
- Identifying Training Requirements & Methods
- Instructional Techniques
- Training Implications of the MHO Regs
- Action Plans

Council certificates will be awarded on successful completion of the assisgments, which will be continually assessed by the Instructor. Only candidates who have attended all sessions will be eligible to gain a certificate.
